Commissions Info

Sun May 25, 2014, 4:53 PM

Please keep an eye on this journal as I may adjust my prices from time to time.

:bulletpurple:Keep in mind that shipping to your country is a separate price so that I am able to ship to everyone's country and everyone's pony is the same price for the type they want.:bulletpurple:

New pricing info! (I will update with a pricing table when I get a day off of work, but read the following paragraph right from my latest journal for more info for now)

I will be changing my prices to better reflect the hours worked. This will make it $200 plus shipping for a basic pony sculpture, a starting price of $250 for sonic style sculptures, and a starting price of $300 plus shipping for human sculpture (but this is just the starting price. I will have to give a specific quote for what it is you want depending on how complicated the piece is). BUT my 3d model fee for 3d printing prices will remain low! $60 starting price for ponies and $80 starting price for sonic style figures (send me a note for a quote of any other character types) and then you just cover the 3d print and shipping price, which will depend on what material and size you want to print in

I WILL accept OC's but I will give you a specific quote based on their design and how you want me to sculpt them, but you can get an idea of how much they might cost from the prices above.

Payment:
I prefer Paypal but I have been known to accept cash. However, cash purchases have to be paid in full and reach me in the mail before I start work on the figure and I cant hold responsibility if it gets lost in the mail. If you want to pay in cash, you do so at your own risk. For regular Paypal transactions, a down payment is required before I start work on the figure but it can vary depending on what I and the buyer agree on. Typically, most buyers pay half of the figurine price up front and pay the rest plus the shipping after I finish work on the figurine and right before it's ready to ship.

With Paypal, I can send you an invoice, but I prefer that you send me the money and select the 'send to friends and family' option that they have listed. That's the only way that Paypal won't take a cut of the money that you send for themselves.

PLEASE NOTE: only ONE major correction is free in the price, anything more will be $5 extra per correction requested. I would classify a major correction as something like, the commissioner decided they wanted the hair a little shorter/longer at the point where I will have to do a lot of work to correct it, or the commissioner wants the hoof bent at a different angle after it's already been baked/hardened. Please remember that these figures take me a long time to make. Also, please be aware that I make things as is expected at my current skill level and my artistic interpretation. I can't always know exactly what you want and I can't always get the clay to cooperate even if I do know exactly what you want. That being said I thank you for your understanding.

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT: Because of my personal situation and due to the fact that the payment you give me is highly likely to immediately be used to buy materials for your commission, I cannot offer refunds. As they say, all sales are final. However, I do encourage you to buy insurance when it's time to ship your figure, so if the post office decides to run over the box with your figurine in it, you will get a refund from them :D

Aww...didn't get to order a commission before your prices went up.  Still would like to try and get one eventually, but now it's going to be even harder.
$250 is about what I pay for some of my bills each month. ^.^;

That's cool.  Maybe it means I can save up for one for when you do have them open. ^.^ I'd love to have a hand crafted figure of my little sunny colored character.

Yeah it will certainly be a pretty long time until they're open. Best case scenario is I'd be able to open them again in summer but that's being pretty optimistic.

oh yeah they fall under the 'humanoid' clay figures. I haven't redone my commission info page yet to have better descriptions. But I will take on sonic clay figures if you want me to make one :D I'm still adding to my waiting list right now so we can talk about a commission for you if you're interested. :D

oh thank goodness
I've wanted one for ages, first seen them when you made those team purity sculptures but I haven't had any source of income up until now lmao
before I commission you I'll probably get sketch commissions and stuff to try n get a pose I like for them, idk if it's needed but I figure it'd help and you wouldn't just be working off imagination or anything
and I'm not gonna do the posing myself due to a long complicated story that isn't to important but basically I can only draw on a mobile phone which has made sketching for me the biggest pain in the ass

but could I grab a quote one these two for now so I know an approximate price to put aside for it;
agate and rift ref sheet by CrimsonTagger

project vertigo ref sheet by CrimsonTagger

I'll probably start with getting one off I just always have trouble choosing which one out of these two

sure. :D
Since their clothes are simple i would just charge the starting price for humanoid clay figures  which is $375 USD plus shipping for each. If you want the chao it would be a little bit extra though. I only require a down payment of $100 and the rest can be paid in parts if you need to but the full amount must be paid before I will ship to you. Also, if you wait too long to actually commission me, I can't promise that I will be able to keep that same asking price. It mostly depends on how many people are wanting to commission me at the time you want the commission.

I can make sculptures from just these images. I don't necessarily need a pose reference it just helps a lot to get you the figure you want. If you find a pose you want of some other character I can work just as easily from that :D

well, for these, even simplified, I'd have to quote you probably USD$180 each plus shipping for normal pony proportions since they would still have a lot that needs to be sculpted. Shipping to Finland will be pretty costly too, Likely postage would cost at least USD$50 just to ship and I can't guarantee your country won't charge you more for your package when it arrives :( Each country has their own rules about imports.

it would really depend on the level of detail you wanted. Like if you want the sculptures to have all those little details in the pictures i would charge a lot more than usual. If you are ok with simplified details I would need to see drawings o the level of detail you would want to give you a quote.

humor me if  you want
but how would you bend a hoof after its been hardend already  ?

:iconaachi-chan:
aachi-chan Featured By Owner Jun 7, 2014  Professional Artisan Crafter
well there's a few ways that I could do it depending on how much it needs to bend and what's underneath the hoof, but all of them take a lot of extra work. I could carve down to the wire underneath and bend it then fill the gap with clay and rebake it, or I could completely break the whole leg off and remake it from scratch or if it doesn't need to bend a whole lot, I could carve off one side and add to the other. All these ways would take a ton  of sanding after the new clay is baked to make it all flush and smooth again though.

I am still planning on it but I need to find someone who is actually good at making molds and casts cus I definitely am not lol. I've decided that it's just a waste of money if I do molds and casts cus most of the time they come out bad >.< So I need to find someone who can do that.

 my biggest problem preventing me from getting good was that it's so costly to get materials and so I couldn't really make things as practice very often. If you can get good at it I would love to work with you on making some molds and casts! let me know :D
